Effect of rhythmic stimulation on language processing (II)
Mr Daniele SCHONa
In my talk I will first present the dynamic attending theory, postulating that music listening engenders neuronal entrainment via its rhythmic properties. I will show some data to illustrate how and to what extent such a neuronal entrainment takes place. This entrainment phenomenon also seems to exist in speech perception and production and there seem to be rather strong links between the rhythmic structures of music and speech. This also opens the possibility that music rhtyhmic features may be used, under certain conditions, in speech rehabilitation.
