Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine
A word from the Presidents
Welcome in Toulouse
Lying between Garonne and Pyrenees, strong with both the oral tradition of Gascony and the written one of Languedoc, the “pink” city is a network hub.
The 27th SOFMER congress will land there from 18 to 20 October 2012.
During three days the Pierre Baudis Convention Center will host the physical medicine and rehabilitation professionals from all over France and even beyond the borders, in the heart of the city, close to the “place du Capitole”. For several years, the SOFMER, Physical & Rehabilitation Medicine French Society, Congress has been open to English speaking professionals thanks to the simultaneous translation of most sessions.
We want a convention that reflects the city is. Toulouse is internationally known through its involvement in aeronautics and space technological innovation. The city development has always encompassed from classicism to edge research.
Toulouse rugby union team is a perfect illustration of this spirit. On the one hand, it is famous for its back lines’ creativity. On the other hand, the strategy of the team is constructed on the game’s basic rules: conquest and rigorous defence.
The 27th SOFMER Congress will develop the topics of our specialty in the fields of research, new technologies and therapeutic innovation. We will highlight integrative science, which underpins our activities: brain imaging, robotics and human-computer interfaces, brain stimulation, biomechanics and motion analysis.
However we will not forget the therapeutic basics of our specialty: clinical assessment, multidisciplinary and crossover activity, spasticity, brain-vascular lesion, multiple sclerosis, sports traumatology, cardiac rehabilitation and patient’s therapeutic education....
We are waiting for you in Toulouse and wish you both a studious and a happy visit in the pink city!
