The organisers plan to offer 10 stipends to contributors who have genuine and demonstrable difficulties in meeting the full cost of participating at ETMM8. The stipends will cover the conference fee (including refreshments, lunches and banquet).
The organisers expect that applicants for stipends will be PhD students and young researchers, whose research is not supported by external grants that include travel funding for attending conferences, and who have no access to such funding from their institutions and research groups.
Applications should be sent to Prof. M Leschziner (firstname.lastname@example.org) and should include the following information on one A4 page:
- Name, affiliation and paper contributed (even as co-author)
- An explanation on how the research is supported and a confirmation that financial support for attending the conference cannot be obtained from other sources, in particular from national organisations that offer travel grants to scholars.
- The name and contact details of the supervisor, head of group or head of department who can be contacted to verify the statements made in the application.
The Deadline for receipt of applications is 15th March 2010.
